Deposit Protection Fund bodies
The Deposit Protection Fund Council is the Fund’s supreme governing body. It has seven members, with a four-year term of office. Three members are banks’ representatives, two members of the Council represent the National Bank of Slovakia, the other two members are representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic.
The Deposit Protection Fund Presidium is the executive body, responsible for the DPF operations, including implementation of the DPF Council decisions, and acting on behalf of the Deposit Protection Fund. The Presidium consists of a Chairman and another two members, appointed and dismissed by the Fund Council. All three Presidium members are Fund employees.
The Supervisory Board of the Deposit Protection Fund is the DPF’s supervisory body, supervising its operations and management. It has seven members, with a four-year term of office. Three members are banks’ representatives, two members of the Council represent the National Bank of Slovakia, the other two members are representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. Members of the DPF Council, as well as other employees of the Fund, may not be members of the Supervisory Board of the Deposit Protection Fund.
The responsibilities and competencies of individual bodies are defined by the Deposit Protection Act and the Fund’s Articles of Association.
